Dannyrose British Montessori Academy (DBMA) is seeking a competent, passionate and innovative
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons that strengthen students' reading, writing, comprehension, communication and critical-thinking skills.
We are particularly interested in an educator who can inspire a strong reading culture and help students develop confidence and accuracy in both spoken and written English.
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons.
- Teach grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, composition and creative writing effectively.
- Develop students' reading, speaking, listening and writing skills.
- Teach Literature using approaches that encourage interpretation, discussion and critical thinking.
- Encourage students to read widely and develop a genuine interest in books and literature.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials and appropriate learning activities.
- Assess students' learning and maintain accurate academic records.
- Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate support to students.
- Use student-centred and differentiated teaching strategies.
- Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
- Participate in school training, professional development programmes and academic activities.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the academic team.
- Bachelor's Degree, NCE or other relevant qualification in English, English Education, Literature or a related discipline.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Sound knowledge of English Language and Literature.
- Excellent grammar, comprehension and writing skills.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to create engaging and student-centred lessons.
- Good digital literacy skills.
- Previous classroom teaching experience is an advantage.
- Must be willing to learn, innovate and continuously develop professionally.
